Spares - An Overview.
Spares for the S800 are still manufactured by Honda in Japan and can be ordered provided you have the part number.
What other manufacturer gives factory support to owners after 40 years?!.
Some Honda main dealers do have the correct microfiche to enable identification of the right part and number. Alternatively there are a number of original parts books in circulation within the Club.
The Club has a copy of the parts book and manual on CD format (contact Tony Lowe). We have also launched our Engine Rebuild footage in DVD format (PAL) - contact Cliff Comper.
However, the ordering of parts is not quite as simple as it seems as a number of parts have been superceded or are difficult to obtain. The Club has details of which parts can be substituted with other Honda parts or at times from other vehicles plus there are various parts now in new production within the UK, Germany and Japan.
The message is that to get the best advice you should join the Club which knows the cars inside out.

Spark Plugs
NGK Plugs NGK Spark Plugs

Standard fit is D8EA but for competition use or fast road try D9EA or D10EA.
Alternatively DR8E1X is the platinum tipped modern resistor equivalent.
Petrol
Link to www.leadedpetrol.co.uk Your S800 will happily run on unleaded fuel but it is probably a good idea to put some leaded petrol in when available.

Motor Sport Parts/Spares
Merlin Motor Sport Merlin Motor Sport can supply all manner of extra items for your sports car. They are based within Castle Combe circuit so why not pay them a visit next time you are there or contact them via their website by clicking on the adjacent logo.?
Tyres
Demon Tweeks Your tyre size will depend upon the size and type of wheels fitted. Original size wheels are 4.5 inch width using a 145x13 tyre to standard (nominally 80%) profile. You can therefore fit 165/70x13 and 185/60x13 to keep a similar rolling radius to the original. For road use 165/70 or 175/60 (or 175/65 depending on availabilty) seems to be the optimum.
